Default First attempt at a mount.

Here we go. My brass nodosa that I bought has been elevated to the status of mount.

Just keep your fingers crossed....

Hang it high in lots of sun, and away she'll go!

I think you will find that Brassavolas do very well on mounts. Good luck with yours!

Nice☺️👍🏻

Also- do you have more pics of your gh? (Maybe you have a thread in the gh section? If not: oh please make one&#128515

I like your pots, and I'm guessing you have a nice setup.

Thank you very much. A while back Ray told me my greenhouse was too empty and needed filling. Admitedly the winter tender plants are in there for the winter, but it is getting very crowded. I'll take some up to date pics tomorrow and post them.

Here's what it looked like at the start.

Most of the time it seems my mounted plants are easier to care for than the potted ones. I never need to worry about whether the medium is still wet, or overwatering them. I look at my plants almost every day because I want to.

Going away for more than a few days presents a few problems, though.

Well, having taken the step, there are several others that probably should be on mounts. Either that, or I have several divisions, and who knows, it should work.

Plus, the orange trees need opening up and pruning, so I have been harvesting mounts from them. I like the corkk oakk one better, but the orange wood ones will last a LOT longer. That's a real hardwood, and I use it for tool handles.

An automatic sprinkler system is really helpful for mounted plants And easy to do... outside, if there is a hose bib anywhere near, a "Y" connector can let you connect one side to a controller and leave the other for a hose. Inside, a bucket with a submersible pump can be the water source. Using low-flow sprinklers, the amount of water used can be quite small, so it could serve for many days. (Happy vacation...)
