Epidendrum radicans potting mix.

Hello,

I just got a couple of epidendrum radicans from a friend. It has arrived bare rooted. I am confused as some sources suggest that it should be grown in a sand+compost pix whereas some suggest that it should be grown in a mix suited for epiphytic potting mix. Please help me assemble an ideal potting mix for this orchid.

It should do just fine either way. If you plan to grow it potted an epiphytic mix is often the most practical, but if you will plant it in the ground or a raised bed a well drained "soil" like sand and compost is a better choice. But this one will probably grow like a weed no matter what you do if it has bright light and enough water.
