Hello guys! How are you? I have a question, this orchid is Phalaenopsis equestris???

Well it looks like P. equestris, but at teh same time, from the images and considering the amount of hybrids out there, it is challenging to say for sure it is P. equestris (although I am not a specialist).

It looks like an healthy plant nonetheless!

Hi Naoki, as I said above, I am far from being an expert so as you sound very confident that it is an hybrid and in order for me to improve my knowledge, would you mind to tell the characters that make you so convinced it is an hybrid?

I thought based on the images, it could fit within the intraspecific variation range of equestris, and actually I think that indeed equestris produces a lot of keikis (at least mine does...).

P. equestris does not display the "horns" on the lip that your plant has, and the petals on equestris are not as wide and full as your plant shows. While your plant is undoubtedly an equestris hybrid, it is most definitely not the species itself.

Here is what P. equestris looks like:

Fred, as Whimgrinder said, the lip shape is completely different. The photos are fuzzy, but the whisker (horns) on the tip of the mid-lobe of the lip and the shape of the lateral lobe is the easiest clue. In many (but not all) phalaenopsis, the lip has 3 parts. The dominant part (the purplish pink part in Whimgrinder's photo) is the mid-lobe. Just below the column, there are two things sticking up at the base of the mid lobe (yellow/orange part). This is the lateral lobes.

The whisker on the mid-lobe is only observed in subgenus Phalaenopsis, section Phalaenopsis = P. amabilis relatives (P. amabilis, P. aphrodite, P. phillipinensis P. sanderiana, P. schilleriana, P. stuartiana), so it is probably the influence.
