I recommend repotting immediately while your plant still has roots. If you let it be, the problem will get exacerbated. The heavier the root loss, the more difficult the recovery.

Maybe I'm not understanding here?? How is that over-watering? I water my plants as they need it, typically once a week on average, as the medium dries out. When I water I bring them one by one, yes with my health this can take a very long time with taking breaks and going super slowly etc... but I bring them to the kitchen sink and hold a finger or two over the drainage hole, then water (with rain water not tap) until it reaches the top of the pot. I hold it for a bit until everything is nice and wet then move my finger(s) to drain the water. THEN I do the same thing with my fert/water. Then they go back to their spot on the shelf. They are not over-watered at all, in some instances I actually feel I underwater since they do get slightly too dry sometimes. I do spray the tops with my spray bottle if they get a bit too dry. But this is how I've been watering my orchids for many years now. And yes all my phals are grown in moss. Well a moss mix, but it's mostly moss. Re-pot me's mix to be exact. The others are in the mixes they need too and are watered the same.

Over watering once isn't going to kill your 'chid. If this 'chid did indeed come from a BB store, I would re-pot, just to assess the roots and make sure it doesn't have something going on. A lot of the orchids found at BB stores have been thoroughly abused and are in need of immediate re-potting and TLC. There are some that don't need this treatment of course, but I've always re-potted mine within a couple of weeks of coming home. One 'chid I bought from the grocery store had freaking potting soil in the pot. The soil was put there by the stores in-house florist and not the grower. That's kind of why I bought it, I knew it was destined to die if I didn't save it. LOL
Even if it looks healthy from the outside, I would still poke around in the moss to make sure there isn't any rot going on with the roots towards the middle. BB stores don't really know how to care for 'chids and can think it needs water when the middle is still pretty wet. This leads to roots that look fine on the top and the side of the pot, but are rotting in the middle.
