Default Orchids on TV Set - Help ID

I've been watching reruns of the Big Bang Theory and noticed that one of the apartments in the set always has orchids in it. I've decided that they are real (at least the white phal) because sometimes the flowers look droopy and the pot changes so they probably swap plants. But I can't identify the purple one. I've tried to rally up some pictures to help. I can't find anything online and am kind of surprised. It looks like a phal to me based on the leaves but the flowers seem to be pretty low on the stem and remind of me of den phal flowers. I like it though, I want to get one now

Anyone know what it is?

It can be fun looking at the plants on TV shows. Usually that's the most interesting part.

There was a TV series called Rome a few years back. I read all this spew about how realistic it was and how careful the producers were to make sure the costumes, buildings, everything was exactly correct. The action moved into somebody's house, and all the house plants were native to North America. Ooops.

I'm noticing a lot of orchids, mostly phals in UK TV at the moment.

That's funny about Rome, I never picked up on that!

I was struck by the purple orchid in the pictures above because I never saw a phal with flowers so far down the spike. Are there Phals like that?

I have noticed this too. Watching Big Bang reruns last night and saw orchids in the back ground too. They must change them from time to time. Because one show there was a white phal. like in your picture and in another show there was a purple phal. I do agree that the orchid in the second picture does look fake or silk because of the way the leaves are pointed upward. I don't think that they would typically grow that way. Great spot though, makes watching TV more interesting. You see more and more orchids used in the backgrounds of more and more shows.
