Another spike for Sharry Baby?
Hi everyone,
My Sharry Baby just finished blooming from its (at that time) newest mature pseudobulb. But the new new pseudobulb has rapidly gained bulk, and today I noticed a spike on that one! The time in between cutting the old spike and seeing this new one was about two weeks. I'm excited! Not sure if the consecutive spikes are normal, but I LOVE Sharry Baby. It's the only oncidium that really thrives for me.
Are there any other oncidiums that are as hardy??

I like this yellow one. It is a regular joy, with the lips like big fat flakes of sunlight. I cut the spike off a tad early because there was an nasty bug on it, - one of the white plagues we get here, and there weren't many flowers left on it. To my surprise, it threw two new small spikes and a new shoot very soon after.

I think I have that one too - it's a NoID from Trader Joe's that turned out to be really hardy. Not quite as easy as Sharry Baby, but still pretty resilient. Do you know what yours is called?

Yeah. It's called 'The yellow one'
A lot of mine come from garden centres here, and identifying an orchid is limited to 'oncidium' 'Cymbidium' etc.
You are right, it is a lot tougher than the others, which as it was my first is probably why it's still alive!

I bet it's the same one! It's my second-favorite oncidium. :-) It's really pretty. I haven't gotten it to rebloom for me yet, though.

Yes, i have both sharry baby and the yellow one. My yellow one is called Oncidium aloha iwanaga. But there are other similar ones to that like the sweet sugar one (very, very, very similar).

Yeah, I noticed that there were many very similar ones, so I gave up on trying to definitively nail down the identification.

Well, this rebloomed easily this year When I got it all the roots were dead, so I was really pleased that it pulled thru.
