I'm not sure if anyone recalls, but this is the noid rescue orchid I got a few months back. It was doing okay and then started to get droopy and now the leaves are turning brown. It doesn't get direct sunlight. It still doesn't have any roots...but when I removed it from the pot, I see new growth..now I have it in moss, maybe it wasn't getting enough water?
I was a bit upset that apart of the plant fell right off as you can see in the last picture..

Because it doesn't have roots it isn't really getting any water. A Paph in that condition must be in a terrarium environment, nearly 100% humidity, or it dries out like this. It might not be too late, it is certainly trying, but give it a real chance. Sphagnum is the best choice for now, and seal it inside a clear plastic bag if you don't have something like a covered terrarium. It also needs to be held firmly in place, no flopping around, or new roots will never have a chance. The part that fell off is long dead. It needed to go.

Okay. I have two 10 gallon tanks with moss in them. This one has a glass top but there's some space to allow air to enter the tank. Will this be fine?

I have a little seedling delenatii that is growing in a jelly jar with the lid on. I bought it early this summer, discovered it to be rootless and thought that the heat of summer would quickly get it going. When it started to decline, it went into the jar. This has kept it in good condition for the past few months and it is finally getting a new leaf. I hope new roots will follow (I give it a dose of seaweed once a month). Good luck with yours!
