Seriously, wouldn't it be wonderful to have a jungle habitat (not that all orchids are jungle critters) in one's house ?
I once knew a wholesale florist who had a greenhouse/pool area that exceeded a football field in size, with trees, birds, critters and all. I LOVED it..but no way I could afford something like that.

Yeah, I go quietly mad when people use the term 'natural' Atomic power, strychnine, arsenic all natural. Sliced bread a warm bed, apple pie, all most UNnatural.

The limitations are our old opponents, time and money. Instead of filling walls and cabinets with paintings, family photos, artful sculptures and the like, every square inch could have orchids attached.
Green walls and artifical lights can be installed in ways they don't rely on the wall behind for support.
Think of all the wasted wall space in the bathroom. It would be great to have to push aside orchid leaves and spikes in order to sit down. And shower walls encased in a creeping orchid wouldn't need the squeegee.

Glad the yellow beauty reflowered for you...orchids are tough and tolerate drought better than over-abundance of water.

Well one day I will check the exact temperate of it.
Ok but in all fairness in hotter climates more often then not the sun is out when water comes pouring from the heavens. So this could also make the plant and water hotter then one might think. And if I am using lava rock or clay pellets it would evaporate quickly and cool them down at a faster rate.

" to cook " the roots one would have to actually have the roots in a potting media that would be over concentrated in. As I mentioned mine are potted in lava rock or clay pellets , or bark , perlite and charcoal.
These cool down fast.
If I were to do this with a plant in actual soil then it would "cook" it because it absorbs a lot of moisture.
