Mine are all out and they have been under far less that 5ºC in winter without any problems. But the spikes, under these conditions, maybe won't develop and die.
Let's see what happens.
Well, I'm with you on the blooms. I really wouldn't expect those to do well at low temps..
My Cyms all start spikes in late summer. - early autumn to bloom winter - spring.
They are oustside taking temps down to (or slightly below) freezing for short periods - if they have buds, I make sure they are sheltered from frost / freeze.

Isn't it long for a spike to develop? Mine take only 1 and half month, approx. They appear by the end of March-middle April and bloom in May, some times June.

I spot them pretty early on, and it's usually around 3 months from then til they bloom.
Mine has a first time for me spike that started about a month ago. It's about 7 inches long. It stays outside in the daytime and overnight if it stays above 40F. I have read they would be ok down to freezing, but I don't want to take that chance with it being my first spike.
