Physan Solution Storage
If I mix up a Physan Solution (2tsp/gal),
How long can I store the solution for future use?
Does it lose potency over time, after diluted with water?
Does it need to be refrigerated?

I'm sure someone will have more technical info but somewhere in the fine print I read that because it is not alcohol based, it doesn't deteriorate when mixed with water if not used right away. For what its worth.

I would be extremely careful about putting poison into the refrigerator.

Good point-- I wasnt planning on putting in the refrigerator, unless necessary...
Ideally, I would like to put it in a dedicated spray bottle, for use as-needed...
I just want to make sure it will still be effective weeks or months later!

Have you actually used it to spray on the plants, or just on surfaces. If you have used it on plants, did it leave any residue or damage the leaves in any way. According to the label it's ok to spray the leaves, but I'm not sure I want to do that.

I have used it many times, for many years, directly on plants.
I think it is fully intended to be used on plants, not just on surfaces.
When I grew plants outdoors, I used it monthly as a normal watering for all my plants (sprayed the entire plant). It worked great, and significantly reduced rot.
I had absolutely no issues with residue or affect on plant growth... Roots on mounted plants, that I could see the growing tips, continued growing and were not affected.
Now that I grow indoors, I only use it as-needed, and am tired of always mixing up a small batch to use and dump the rest... I would rather just mix up a gallon and have it ready when needed!!!
I dont think you need to be concerned with using it directly on plants...

Room temperature storage of a dilute solution is no issue.
LABEL IT.

I have sprayed it on plants and seen no issue either. I prefer to keep it off roots, but that is just me.

The same type of disinfectant chemical used in Physan is in many household products including anti-bacterial kitchen cleaner sprays and disinfectant wipes intended for food preparation surfaces. Many people keep disinfectant wipes on kitchen counters, this is no different. Don't drink the stuff, but personally I wouldn't hesitate to store it near food if properly sealed and labeled and no young children around.
The only problem with stable storage of a diluted solution for a few weeks would be if the water used wasn't clean and pure. Any dirt or organic material, other added chemical, high total dissolved solids or acidic pH could affect potency pretty fast. This is a good place to use distilled or RO water or at least the best water quality available.

Why not just make up a smaller batch of solution (1/2 tsp/quart, for example)?
