You are both lucky. My dear hubby likes the live plants around but would never help me with them. He will help with the garden and the trees however so that's a help. I got him 2 orchids and if I can ever get them to bloom perhaps he will get interested. I give him the strange ones.

Buy a plant for him, and get it established in semi-hydroponic culture. Then he can water it whenever he wants!

Those are both lovely! Great choices.
And such a sweet gesture.

That's wonderful. Lol bless our spouses...they deal with our addiction so well. My wife got me a GH so I could stop making messes in the house. My orchids and I are eternally thankful. She enjoys when I bring the blooming ones in so she can enjoy the blooms. As far as taking care of them goes...she worries she will mess something up lol.

Simple solution. Get him some carnivorous plants. There are many that should never be allowed to dry out. He could water them to his heart's content.

Carnivorous plants is a great idea. He likes weird and unique plants. He keeps trying to get me to try mini orchids. He loves them because they are so different. And my iron cross begonia, he loves.

That's funny cause my bf likes carnivorous plants as well, but would never buy them. He likes the pitcher plants, but they don't really sell those here. Just the small Venus fly traps and even those don't look too healthy.
The only plant that he really has is the money tree, and he claims its not a money tree.

Yeah that's how my husband is. There's plants he really likes and he will buy those but not himself. He buys plants he likes and then I grow them 😝
I really think he would need something he could get into a routine with or is extremely forgiving if forgot about for awhile. He's very forgetful. Either something that needs care everyday or something that needs it once a month.

Then I'd suggest the money tree lol my bf always forgets and doesn't water it. So me or his mother will water it maybe once a week. But even without water it does well.
