I don't think so. All the orchid growers I know use water-soluble fertlizers. I gave you a link to fertilizing orchids in another post.

I don't know how well fertilizer spikes might work for orchids - Seems most growers use water-soluble or sustained/slow release pellets (nutri-cote / dynamite).

Fertilizer spikes are a poor choice for orchids. Way too much fertilizer in the area next to the spike, not enough in other places. Stick with water-soluble fertilizers.
