So it still has hope?
You're being pessimistic. Of course there's hope, your orchid is doing great, new roots, new leaves...it just needs a water once a week.

Should I add more potting soil to the new root? Or does all roots need to be covered?

No, those are aerial roots, they grow outside of the pot, sometimes there's lots of them. Don't worry, that's normal and it's a good sign, it means the plant is finding ways to look for food and water. You just need to help it by providing those things. When you notice the top layer of the medium is dry, it's time to water.
Very important: when watering avoid water deposits in the crown and between the leaves because it can't escape (unless by drying) and can lead to rot. The best is to water it during the morning so that, with the temp increase during the day, the water can evaporate.

I don't know that one. Maybe some of the guys that live in the US could help you better about fertilizers. I use Akerne's Rain Mix. Don't know if it's available or if yours is adequate for pahls (your orchid => Phalaenopsis).

I live in a low-humidity climate too. With Phals you want to soak them, then let them almost dry out. How long the drying out takes depends on the temperature.

If you're not sure of your humidity, it might be a good idea to get a cheap thermometer/humidistat at Radio Shack. In my growing room, with a lot of plants, it's usually 40% - 60%.

To raise humidity, have a lot of other thirsty regular house plants in the same room, or have a cool ultrasonic humidifier.

If the bark is old it starts to break down and get mushy in the center of the pot. You can't see this. The mushy stuff never dries out. This is why most people repot plants in bark every 2-4 years.

I would use water-soluble fertilizer instead of the spikes. I fertilizer my Phals at every watering with 50PPM nitrogen fertilizer, which is not a lot. You can read a lot about fertilizer on
here.

How can you tell if they are over watered?

First off, your plant has a very high likelihood of being saved.

When Phals are overwatered, the roots rot. You said you just repotted, so the bark is probably still good. You also said the roots didn't look good. What do you mean? Did you cut off any dead roots?

If you've just repotted a Phal that had bad roots you cut off, it will get re-established best if humidity is as high as you can provide.

People here are wondering whether your roots were rotten, or if you weren't watering enough for a while. Either case can cause the leaves to have those wrinkles. That's why I'm asking what the roots were like.
