Mini Cattleya ready to bloom
Hi Everyone
I have a noid miniature cattleya that is getting ready to bloom. This will be a first for me. I am so excited. I bought it about 8 months ago and it was not in the best of condition. My question is, once it is blooming can I move it to a spot where I will be able to enjoy the blooms? It currently sits on an east windowsill in the kitchen. If I move it will the blooms fall off?
Thanks
Anita

Moving it around carefully within the house should pose very little risk. As heating season comes on, keep it away from direct heat sources. Maintain normal good care and don't keep it away from its best position in that kitchen window for more than a few weeks.

I let mine open their buds, or at least some of them in their growing place. Then put them wherever I want in the house to enjoy them. try not to rotate the plant now while its in bud as the buds may try and follow the light and get rather turned around and upside down. But once in bloom, you can place it where it will show best, barring any heat sources or cold drafts from doors opening in winter.

Thank you PaphMadMan & Silken for your responses.
I can't wait for it to bloom. Anxious to see what it's going to look like.

I can so appreciate the thought processes here. what's the point of going to all that work, and then not being able to appreciate it fully.
Hint, buy a nice orchid for the house, and then when it's finished, you have another orchid....

It's Blooming
Hi Everyone
Well my first cattleya blooms are here. I'm so excited. Here are some pictures.
Would it be okay for me to move it now where I'll actually be able to see the flowers?
Thank You
Anita
