I worked so hard at figuring out phals that I lost my touch with oncidiums, that's for sure.

I have had basal keikis that elongated a bit before forming a plant. This is more than what I've seen in my plants, but I'm still pretty sure it's a basal keiki. |

I'm just enjoying watching it grow...I've watched the poor thing struggle to barely stay alive for more than a year. Any new growth on it is beautiful to me |

I have had a few keiki's but mine never got that long either. But it sure doesn't look like a spike to me. I think it's a ........ b a b y! Good for you keeping it alive.

I have had basal keikis that elongated a bit before forming a plant. This is more than what I've seen in my plants, but I'm still pretty sure it's a basal keiki.
