Hello everybody!

I bought a G. sororius on Monday, and I would like to know, if it is ok, when it stays dry for one day?

I am not able to water it today, because this orchid is in the boarding house of the school, and now I am 40 miles away at home.

And now, the sun is shining: Does my plant die, when it gets temperatures of 30°C be humidity of 80%?

And the salesman gave me a little present: fertilizer with NPK 20-20-20. Is that ok?

greets
Sebastian

Sebastian, I have two different Gastrochilas (not the same one) and would say, yes it will be OK. Normally they like to be kept moist (not drippy wet) and high humidity, but one day won't hurt it. As for the fertilizer, I prefer a fertilizer mixed such that it presents 125ppm Nitrogen to the orchids. I water every other day with this in my Wardian Case. In your case that would be approx 1/2 teaspoon per US gallon water or .62 milliliters per liter. Hope this helps.
