ok Bird Song Farm. That sounds good. thanks for the help.
So whether or not you get the "just can't have one" syndrome or not, it you get a Keiki you've gotten another anyway. However, most of my orchid friends cannot resist when they see another one in a shop that they fall in love with.

Yep, in this case you have two, want them or not BUT you are on the verge of the terrible but not life threating disease called "Orchiditis".

You will find that the members of this board are very good at spreading the disease by way of "enabling".

I'm one of the worst offenders, so I suggest you go out looking and see what you can find that you like!
Phals are great plants to start with as they are very forgiving.

Let us know what you find, you know you can't wait until the one you have flowers again.....

Oh, watch the board for a special project coming up. They are a lot of fun and a great way to learn about a plant you might not ordinarily buy.

Al

Don't I know it! the verge began about 5 yrs ago. I now have 3 phals and 3 catts and it still doesn't deter me from checking them out when I'm in a store that sells plants. Problem is, I only have room for so many, so I HAVE to maintain control.
Right now I'm more than a little dismayed as I've had the catts for 3+ years and nary a bloom. The one really big one needs to be repotted and before I bring them in for the Winter I'll take care of that. But I don't know what I'm not doing that hinders the blooms
Just as a point of info, the phal w/the Keiki is also in spike and my beautiful purple phal is pushing one out too. Those I have no problem with as they bloom almost continually. So the catts just must not like my conditions

Ginny, the first thing I would do is get one of the moderators to move your thread somewhere else for help with your Catts. Or just repost it.
In the meantime...if you are growing them in the same area then that's your answer...move the catts to more light maybe much more light.

Did you resize the picture you browsed for on the computer? The link for the resizing program is in the first post of this thread if you need it
