Default Basal keiki twins?

This is a bargain bin orphan, as I call the noID cheapies at shows, which cost us whopping 30 Rand (less than 2 Eur).
We got him in April this year as another attempt to break the phal curse that sits upon me (they just don't like me), and he did look very rugged - with leaves half cut off for whatever reason, roots packed in moss.
He's been hanging around, lost his oldest leaves, I cut one big one off because of some strange blackish markings, which thankfully didn't spread.
He (his name is Batman, he hangs upside down like a bat...) started growing roots very actively a month ago or so, no new leaves though.

Today I pop him into his jug to soak, and I find these two growths, all green, all happy - is my Batman having basal keiki twins? They look like little leaves emerging from where his roots are.
Pictures are not great, but I tried my best! Yes, the orchid is super wet, but as I said, it was watering day.

Hurray! I guess once these babies grow up I'll have to get a big 5 liter juice bottle to fit them in and let them hang happily
I swear hanging them is my magic charm for the curse.

Upon another inspection I found a third keiki! I've been thinking this whole time how sad that phal is, just sitting there doing nothing, now he's super busy!

One month later and after a wonderful holiday in Knysna, where we got to see Mystacidium capense in its natural habitat, the triplets are doing great. Also, after 6 months of just sitting here, the mother plant decided to push out a new leaf!

That's where you've been! We expect Mystacidium photos, of course.

Haha, yes, camping and worrying for all the chids at home for 10 days! Yet again I feel they grow better when I'm not here
Will post pictures the second I'm done cataloging all the new growths

Last night at our society meeting Batman was with us - it was a 'gadget meeting', where everybody either brought or talked about their little inventions or great ideas that make orchid growing easier.

We took Batman, who is potted hanging upside down, as a little 'gadget' that helps you prevent crown rot in phals and saves space.
We won the best gadget by popular vote!! And with that comes a free membership for the next year Hurray to Batman!

Now that is a VERY sensible idea. If I were in an orchid society I'd suggest that we did that.
