Just got this nice Violaycea Hybrid, one nice flower just fell off, left me with two buds, now the bud stem is turning brown.

Here is the picture. Browning bud stem is a sign of bud is heading toward being blasted. These are the only two buds left, I don't want to wait a long time for next round of blooming!

Out of desperation, I spread some keiki paste on the bud stems, we'll see if the boost of stimulants can kick the bud open for me...

Don't give newbie the Keikie paste, he'll spread it on anything that doesn't talk back...

Change of the environment can cause buds to blast.
also - drafts (hot/cold), excessively dry air

I am not aware that the hormones in keiki-paste will accelerate buds opening (it might, but I'll bet this was just coincidence), but I can confirm that it will shorten the life of the flower.

Now you know . If you spread too much paste on a bud, it'll force the bud to bloom immaturely, like the thing that stick out of Alien's mouth
