Vanda Water Culture...

So Hubby (the orchid enabler) and I were at H.E.B., when low and behold, they had Vandas in with the good luck plants, not the orchid area.

Never got into Vandas before because they need to be in a basket, which I don't have a place for. Love their beautiful flowers, but never wanted to get one. Until now...

So excited to have a Vanda and know they need lots of light, but not direct. Have just the spot in the house.

Figure I'll water her when the roots turn silver like a Phal? The one thing I need to know is how to fertilize her in a water culture?

Any tidbits of advice is welcome...

You need to read t his whole thread.I have a number of seedling doing well in vases in arid Phoenix:

Vandas in Glass Vases

They need a lot ofw ater but the roots need to dry out in between.

Thanks for the link to the thread! Got through three pages and will read the rest later. Lots of good information.

First thing I'll do is get a better vase to put her in.
