Question Totally different flower color after nutrients was added!!

Hey everybody I am kinda new to the orchid thing!!! BUt in the last month I have came across 24 orchids which 3 happen to be the same!! I dont know about the 3rd one just yet but the 1st two tha I got changed color after I gave them nutrients and I was wondering just if you guys can explain this to me?? Here are some picture though, and thanks for any help or thoughts given!!

As you can see in the 1st pictures that is what I thought was the normal color, then the 3rd and 4th in the left you can see a little difference and the 5th is up close!! All on the same spike! I more thing can anyone tell me what orchid this is??
I will take some more pictures of it later!

Greetings: Is this plant new to you, or have you been growing it for a while? Was the addition of fertilizer the only thing that changed? I am referring to location, light and/or temperature, which can sometimes lead to changes in flower color. Also, what nutrients did you give the plants that they weren't getting before?

Sorry to be so full of questions, but this will help us determine the cause. It's a beautiful phal, nonetheless.

Well I got them from some stores around my area lowes and other places, it was all since the 11th till now and I only gave them a bloom ferilizer 1week after I got them!! Ok I look back on pictures and my journal and I got 1 on the 13th and the other I am not sure but I gave them Orcrid Bloom Booster on the 22nd, then by the 28th it was noticed, well in the photos I have, but on the 28th I gave them Orchid Plus! then I have a indoor green house I built in my room but I built the light fixtures and everything but the humidity is the only thing I dont really have a control on!! Hope that helps!! I might have gave them a little hydroponic mix somewhere in there!! Thanks!

I am using those twisty Fluorescents and they are 23 watts but act as 100w so I guess they are under 400w Fluorescents !!

Some flowers just naturally deepen in color or fade as they age. Sometimes color deepens with more intense light. If I were to hazzard a guess I would have to say a change in light intensity is probably the cause of the different colors, not the bloom food.

Hi Mulberry. Welcome to OB! To start a new thread figure out which forum you want to be in. If you want to post somethig in Beginner Discussion click the link at the top of the page that says Beginner Discussion. Once that forum is open click the button in the upper left hand side that says New Thread. Put in your title and then ask your question. HTH

Hi, Terri....Thank you so much for responding. I want to ask to see if anyone may know where I could get a division of the old classic orchid, Lc. Lily Pons. Which forum would you suggest that I post it to. Where would I find a set of rules for using this site? Thanks for your help.

I doubt seriously that a little bit of fertilizer caused what you are seeing. Light and temperature play a far bigger role.

Really nice colors on that phal!!
I experienced something similar with my Beallara not too long ago. When I bought it, the open flowers were the normal purple color. The buds which opened after I got it were whitish. I think that the difference in temperature and lighting probably had something to do with it. I'll just have to wait and see what happens next time it blooms!
And I do agree with Terri about some flowers changing colors as the age. I just can't imagine why fertilzer would have such an effect.
