repotted phal question Male
Default repotted phal question

Hey
One of my bargain phals i got to try and bring back has been doing good, i cut the spike right down as it was dead and the leaves have de wrinkled and are standing more firmly ☺
I repotted into a bigger pot as it has huge roots and leaves and was in a little clear pot, my problem is it doesnt seem to be very secure in the pot and moves around a bit, so i took it out again and put it deeper in and covered but again moving a bit, i think the roots are really firm and not sorta compacting enough for it to be sturdy. Will it be ok? Or should i try something else

just leave it, hopefully it will put out new root growth and soon it will be secure in the pot.

I wouldn't worry too much just don't move it much.

What I like to do is wedge pieces of bark into the sides of the pot to get the fit tight. You might try that. You can push a little bit to get things tight.

You can also put a plant stake in the pot next to the stem and use a tie or clip to fasten the plant to the stake.

Have you heard of rhizome clips? They're made for clay and plastic pots and specifically to hold a plant steady after repotting so the roots have the stability needed to grow into the medium which won't happen if the plant wobbles. Once you see what the clips look like, some folks even make their own but use a certain guage of wire. I prefer to purchase them tho.
