I should have been more specific. Generally speaking only species listed in Appendix I need CITES certification to bring in to the US. Practically all orchids are listed, but the bulk are under Appendix II. MOST of these Appendix II species are exempt. Always look into the specific species.

O now i understand, it is very hard to find indigenous SA orchids :(

Silverhill Seeds has a fair selection.

Be sure to check out the travel forum on tripadvisor.

I'd love a recommendation!! Thank you!

If you're going out of Cape Town to enjoy some wine, I'd recommend visiting Exotic Plant Company or Duckitt Nurseries (home - Duckitt Nurseries)
:)

YES!, duckitts are open every first Saturday of the month, a site to see

When in Cape Town I toured with Hank the owner of Ulungele Tours. I toured the Cape Peninsula and took a day trip to Inverdoorn game reserve. He also does tours of the wineries and Shark cage diving. He was very friendly, very knowledgable, and he was a pleasure to spend the day with. Hank contributes frequently on the South African forum on Tripadvisor.

Thank you!! Hopefully I can find a way to get up there from Cape Town. I don't think we want to rent a car. It looks like an amazing place!

Renting a car is the only way I'd recommend. Maybe even if it foe one day, definitely worth it :)
