No so frequent watering
I haven't been watering or bothering my orchids and wow are they doing impressively well. Last time I gave them a good soak was about 3-4 weeks ago. I have lots of humidity in my room and humidity trays I keep with water.
Thanks for reading and enjoy your week !

Isn't that amazing? Orchids have surprised me with how well they do without watering, well until I unintentionally made a habit of it. Then I went and let the rain over-water...goodness...
Congrats on your progress though, that's so joy inducing.

Lol ! I know I had to bring mine in about a month ago bc it kept raining.
It's easier to water at night when my lil ones are asleep. I just put them to dry off with a fan and in the am back in my window.

Today I selectively watered only those orchids(phal) that seems to be dried about an inch and a half from the top. I have fine bark. I watered them really well last week-end so I think I am doing good (I have a history of root rot)
Thanks for your postings encourages me to persevere in leaving my orchids alone!

See, I have the opposite problem... more like, omg, I forgot to water the plants *again* I did water today, everything but the orchids, which I've been repotting, and the African violets, which haven't dried out enough yet. I just have to remember to check the dens I just divided as I think they will be ready tomorrow.

I admit, I am a waterer! I give all my mounted orchids a bath first thing every morning, and the seedlings are likely to get water at least every other day. They are in 2" pots in sphag, and are in growth mode in hot temperatures. The orchids I have outside get watered pretty much daily too...unless we have had rain. Even though there is humidity in the greenhouse, the high temps, I think, dry things out fast. The only ones I neglect are the ones I have indoors, and for the most part, they do fine. I am still looking for that balance!
