I don't wish to seem nasty, but I have thrown out plants that looked better.

Is it really worth the effort that is going to have to go into it?

If I were going to try and save it, I would pot it in fine bark with a small ball of sphag just under the roots. I would place it in bright shade with a little wind as poss, and I would spray it every day, twice if you are as dry and hot as I am here.

Speaking personally, if it was one I really wanted, I would order another and get a couple of extra orchids into the order to cover the postage and cheer me up.

I'm with bil here I'd save myself another headache and buy another one (plus some more ). Otherwise, nice and humid, never wet and lots and lots of patience (months to years)

Months for roots or years for full recovery I meant Orchids take their time, especially after being stressed like this.
Sphagnum moss works for many people when recovering orchids like this, because it's nice and humid, but you must be careful not to water it too much, otherwise it'll become super soggy and will just help kill the suffering orchid.
Still, there is no guarantee that this little guys will make it, even if you do 'everything right', unfortunately that's how it goes. We all have lost an orchid or two (or more :P).

Just for kicks, or if you want to experiment, laurentian, get a glass bowl, fill with clean water, and place all your plants in the bowl, with the plants above the surface. Keep watch, if the water gets cloudy replace it with fresh water.

I have been reading about water culture on other places on the Internet, including this one--there is a thread called "vase culture" that you might want to search for.

As others have posted, these plants look like they are on their way out, but water culture might save the day.? You can google "orchid water culture".

Yes I was wondering what type of orchid do you have there you are trying to save. Does your roots turn green at all when you mist them? The leaves to me to like they are mushy, are they?
