You can try carefully removing any remnants of dead leaf from the base of the plant, then placing the plant in a clear, container with lid, or clear plastic bag, with a small wad of slightly damp sphagnum moss. If you don't have moss use something else that is clean and won't rot (maybe a synthetic sponge). Some call this sphag & bag. Leave it somewhere shady and check on it every couple of weeks. It may put out new roots. I have done this with Phalaenopsis and Paphiopedilum, works frequently but not always 100%
