phal serious trouble

So one of my phals that was in in trouble Is now invery serious trouble. It started dropping leafs. I removed from pot to check just to notice that it lost all roots

Is there anything I can do to save it? I did not put it back in the pot.I saw no point.

You can try carefully removing any remnants of dead leaf from the base of the plant, then placing the plant in a clear, container with lid, or clear plastic bag, with a small wad of slightly damp sphagnum moss. If you don't have moss use something else that is clean and won't rot (maybe a synthetic sponge). Some call this sphag & bag. Leave it somewhere shady and check on it every couple of weeks. It may put out new roots. I have done this with Phalaenopsis and Paphiopedilum, works frequently but not always 100%

A good soak in some seaweed (just the base where roots would grow) might help before sphag n bagging it. I have tried the sphag and bag and often get mold growing. so I wouldn't close it up too tight when you do it. let lots of air at it.

I have been reading on Facebook about Orchid Water Culture. The person who started the page, had a dying orchid and thought that she might get a vase full of water, and put it in the vase to keep the leaves hydrated until she could figure out how to rescue it.

A week later, the plant part remained healthy and a root emerged into the water.

So you might want to try that method?
