I repotted the bulbophylum ambrosia that I got yesterday. As you can see the I had to bend the rhizomes slightly to fit the plant in the pot. Can the rhyzomes be bent this way? If not then I have to repot it in a shallow deli tub or saucer.

I use sphagnum to mount all of my Bulbophyllum's so that is fine. Your picture did not show the plastic cup other from the top down, I hope you put lots of holes in the cup because Bulbophyylum's do not like to sit in water, the water must drain out of that cup. Most pictures that I see they are potted in baskets either the plastic ones they have now or the wooden ones are fine or mounted on a plaque, but nothing is wrong with what you used as long as it drains well. I would raise the plant so that the pseudo-bulbs are at the top of the cup and not sitting below the rim of the cup.

I agree with JDT. My 1 Bulbo is in a plastic basket with moss. so long as you have lots of air holes it should be good. They don't like to be dry for long. If the rhizome wasn't under too much pressure when you bent it, it should be OK, But you could pull away a bit of the moss or lift the plant up a bit.

Thank you for the input. The cup has holes on the sides and bottom. The moss is sitting on a layer of medium size lava rock as moss at the bottom of a pot don't usually drain well. This I think should provide enough drainage. I lifted up the plant and pushed down the moss slightly as a couple of the pseudonulbs are above others.
