Default phal in distress

I am new to orchids. My orchids passed quite rough time spider mites and root rot. I repotted two of my orchids in new bark medium. Today while watering my phals I notice that roots do not looks so good. both of them have one or two roots left. If they are left without roots can I still save them ?

here are some picks how they looks like and how I keep my phals

Are you talking about your orchids not having aerial roots? What I see in your photos are nice looking orchids. Did you take them out of the pot and find the roots are mushy?

well you could stick a bamboo skewer near the centre of the pot to tell if the bark is too wet.

the plants do look fine to me, I wouldn't worry too much about aerial roots though.

Sorry what I meant is bottom roots. I repot them because I notice that some roots looks rotten. removed from old bark medium and cut all the mushy roots. I ended up with one or two half roots. I clean and disinfect them and put them in new bark medium. The leafs might look good but I can see slight difference that they getting worst by the day. I also use fertiliser in the water hoping it will prompt new roots but I am not sure if it actually do any good at this point ?

I would not be fertilizing a weakened orchid. Fertilizer may encourage growth, but many fertilizers are high in nitrogen and you don't want more leaves that the roots can't support. I would try one of those seaweed extracts that people use to try and encourage root growth.
