I don't think the slugs would be edible, but I've actually wondered about the snails. Years ago, I had a fabulous dish of snails in black bean sauce at a local chinese restaurant, and the snails were no larger than periwinkles, but they were yummy.
Maybe this would fall in with my general philosophy about "weeds"....If ya can't beat 'em, eat 'em.
