Default blooms and outside plants

Hey all!
Wondering if anyone can tell me if I should let my in sheath Catts stay outside to form...will bees pollinate them after them bloom and cause the bloom to wilt? Will the wasps mess with the sheaths? What advice can you offer?
I have most of my Catts outside on my porch facing west, they get bright light all day and a little evening sun. It is hot and humid in NC right now...everyone is putting out new growth! watering them every other day!
I had a Catt that started a bud and then it went mushy...I inspected the roots and it was in red lava and it was too moist so I switched it to bark... So I know why that bud blasted, BUT it made me start thinking about those bugs and my potential blooms!

Thanks!!Dede

I don't get many pollinated orchids. Many are quite specific as to their pollinators, and we just don't have their pollinators here - but, there's always a chance. I have a couple that always end up with some seed pods (a small Epidendrum species gets a few, but blooms up the wazoo, so I don't worry about it - and a species Cym has gotten a few seed pods. My Den kingianum has a seed pod this year, but had never previously had any over several years), but others never do, even tho I see bees on them.

I've not had problems with wasps, tho I don't know enough about wasps to say with certainty that they won't do any damage... Do wasps bother plants typically?
