They are not orchid seeds. I'm so tired of these annoying jerks scamming people with this garbage.

Oh my those definitely are not orchid seeds! What ever you do, don't buy "rare" orchid seeds on eBay! Today when I was scrolling through orchids I saw a listing for the "top rare orchid seeds" and they gave a picture for a tulip, a paphiopedilum and an African daisy. Cracks me up. Don't worry, I almost fell for this scam too. We're here to learn! Happy growing!

This is the part of Ebay that I abhore. You can report these scams, and Ebay literally does nothing about it. Not even a courtesy response to let you know the outcome one way or another.

Yet we get these types of posts several times a year or more, scattered across the various orchid and plant forums. The people that sell these things are scammers. And Ebay is complicit in the scamming.

Ebay: There's no such thing as blue phalaenopsis seed. There's no such thing as rainbow rose seed. Even if your scammers are selling tihngs that do exist, look at this thread. Look at what they're passing off as phalaenopsis seed. You're going to see 100% consensus on this topic, those are absolutely not phal or orchid seeds. PERIOD. Stop these scammers.

Nope. Scam.

Growing orchids from seed is also very difficult. You need special agar mediums, petrie dishes. It is nearly something you need a scientific laboratory for.

What I don't understand is the benefit for the seller. The price for these things on eBay is less than a dollar, then they have to ship it from China? Is the goal to make money or to get the buyers information for future scams?

Literally it costs them pennies to ship. So if they charge 3 bucks or whatever they're making a profit.
