This plant has long, large leaves; the bloom stalk thick and fleshy; bloom is dark pink edged in white; the petals and sepals are orangy/gold. Very beautiful.

We'd really need to see a picture to be able to take any sort of guess at what you have. The way you describe the leaves and stalk makes it sound like a Phaius but that is TOTALLY a wild guess without a picture.
