I have had an orchid with pink flowers since February. It was doing well until two weeks ago when the flowers on one of the two stems wilted. Now all the flowers are gone and the roots on top of the bark are brown, dry and shrivelled. The stems are drying as well. The roots inside the plastic pot are green and seem to be all right. I wonder if I can revive this plant?
If the roots inside the pot are still green, then they're happy. If your flowers had been flowering since February, then yay! That's a long flowering period. Unfortunately, the flowers do wilt after a certain amount of time and for me, this is one of the reasons why I keep acquiring orchids, I want something in flower!
But now would be a good time for you to think about repotting the little guy and taking a really good look at the roots.
Although you did not say what genus orchid you have, it sounds as if it might be a phalaenopsis. If that is the case, check the 'Phal abuse stops here" sticky at the top of this Beginner Forum for tips in caring for your plant.
Hello and welcome to the OB.
There is nothing to 'resurrect'. Your plant sounds healthy, phal flowers last several months then fade. Give it good culture and next year it will flower for you again.
