Can i bring back my wilted flowers?
Cool Can i bring back my wilted flowers?

So I got my mom an orchid for mother's day- she loves them and usually has a green thumb. however, i was gone all day and never opened my windows to allow air to get in my room where i have the plant, and it got suuuper hot (probably over 80 degrees F). The flowers are droopy now and a little wilty. Is there anything i can do to bring it back to life? It needed a water so i gave it a sip, and now I have my windows open and it is sitting close by (about 4 feet away). It'll only get down to 64 degrees tonight. Anything else i can do?

You didn't say what kind of orchid. If it is a Phal, 80°F is fine. The wilting may have been due to change in relative humidity or some other factor.

Yes! Keep hard at it. Wilted flowers does not necessarily mean that the flower is beyond help

A lot of times unless you have gotten the orchid right off the truck, the buds are about spent any way. Seeing as it was Mothers day today, that would be tragic. Phal flowers usually stay fresh for a few months. 80 degrees F would not effect it in the least. What would is if it was very cold outside and it was unprotected and that would cause blossoms to drop. Another potential threat to all orchids is being too close to a heater or furnace vent, or being too close to a window in some cases.
