Default Thoughts about rain

IF,
If it's going to rain, light rain or a mist would you go ahead and fertilize/fungicide and insecticide?
My thoughts are yes, it rains or something here about everyday so I just go ahead and do it. I figure that the worst that will happen is that it will run down and into the soil and keep on doing it’s thing.
I don’t go out in the rain but I will treat everything in the morning knowing it’s going to rain.
The insecticide is for my roses and mums and it has not hurt the Orchids in the pass so I just keep on doing what I was doing before I got all these Orchids and joined this wonderful group.
If you think I’m wrong tell me, I was wrong once before, back in 1969 (Nam). Otherwise, everyone have a great time and remember a family that flowers together blooms together.

1) Spray after the rain, not before.

2) Erect some sort of protection so you can control the watering schedule.

This is my current feelings about the rain… ...I grow everything outside and I am not able to construct some type of shelter as I am just a renter…

Ray,
Thanks for the reply. Sometimes it rains every evening and then we get a few days with out rain. Sometime it rains the night after I water.
If I built a shelter then no one could enjoy them. The first four and the three I put in the trees are flowering and doing find.

During periods of sustained rain I add a a wetter or a sticker to my spray and to the fertilizer water and spray as soon as the rain holds up for a few hours . This makes it difficult to wash off. At certain times of the year it can rain on and off for 3 weeks here on the coastal belt of SA. The rain is always welcome but if you are growing plants in pots , then the rain will wash the nutrient out of pot and eventually out of the plant as well, this weakens the plants immune system and can lead to fungal infections . So I also include a product called Sporekill in my feed water which gives the plants some measure of protection
Hope this is of help to you

Yes, thank you.
Now is the Sporekill the sticker/wetter?

No Sporekill is not the wetter. I use Efecto G-49 wetter.
I don't think you will find it in your country under that name .Ask your local garden shop for a wetter or a sticker . Sporekill rids your water of fungus spore and other nasties.
