Here is a Vanda I have had for many years. At one point, the leaves were just falling off one by one, then it started to come back, and even shot a keiki.
My question is what to do with this mama and her baby now? I have thought about this idea, Orchids on Bamboo Lattice - Craft Organic
and have the bamboo sticks cut and assembled and wire bound- just need the moss.
In Florida, where is the best placement for a Vanda? It used to bloom, and I remember the flowers being fragrant, but it hasn't bloomed in at least 5-6 years I believe.
Plodde, I neglected it for quite some time. It was hanging on a bush, with a good amount of shade. I understand Vandas like the sun, and need it for flowering.
I 'repotted' it about 2-3 weeks ago maybe, and have been misting it (almost) every morning since. I now have it on the back screened porch hanging where it gets the morning sun (facing east). It has been drenched 2 times with orchid food- trying to do it each weekend- if that is not too much?
I have been out of the orchid hobby for a few years now, and do not have the knowledge as I used to... Any advise is welcome. Thank you.
