MSU fertilizer, silly question (really) Male
Default MSU fertilizer, silly question (really)

Ok, I bought a bottle of this from repotme.com and every time I open it and try to use some of it. It shocks me, you know a static charge...and I spill some.

I never get a static charge in my house, the humidity is around 60%....what's going on with that bottle, is it bottled lightning ?

Anyone had something similar ?

That's freaky. I would think if there was going to be a static discharge you would get the shock when you first picked the bottle up, not as you were watering.

Oh I wasn't clear, I got a shock as I pour the fertilizer liquid it seems into my watering container...thus spilling it.
This has happened both times I was mixing a bit (sample of only two).

Maybe the bottle has a static capacity.

That is strange, maybe it's haunted fertilizer!!!

When you say pour it into the container, are you just pouring straight from the MSU container? Try using another method. Where's the container stored?

Lol, I've began to wonder.
Yes, I pour a fairly small amount (believer in light constant fertilization of active growing plants) into a quart gatorade container for further dilution.

It's stored on my kitchen countertop with the non-orchid dis solvable fertilizer, which is employed with it's own gatorade bottle.

That is so strange. I have an electric personality...hehehe. as in I get shocked allot, it makes me so mad then I say some really bad words. It has helped me to run my humidifiers. My husband even has to laugh at me. I went to unplug the cord from the telephone once and sparks came out of it.

That said I have never been shocked when poring a liquid into another bottle. I don't have MSU liquid so I can say for sure. Perhaps try wetting your hands first. I sometimes have done this when taking sheets off of the bed. I thought it helped.

I'll give it a try (hand wetting) next time I need to mix up a small batch (thinking tomorow) and report what happens to me.

Edit: I wet hands, poured solution, spilt some (without being able to blame on the shock this time), and no shock.

Experiment continues tomorrow when the paphs get watered to confirm with a third trial.
