Sorry for the lack of details , it was late when I posted
We are moving to The Hague in the Netherlands for four or five years. We maybe posted to another European Country after that or Australia or ? We never know where next we are going .We have been in the US for 7 plus years . I will give my plants away when we leave here . I'm hoping to take a few if I can find a way. I'll contact the Maryland Agro Dept. and see if it's possible to have some plants certified to take.
So not having a clue how into their Orchids Europeans are I was looking at Orchidwire to see where the nurseries are. Europe is small in many ways and also huge in others
. When we lived near Paris I would go up to Holland and back in a day to buy Bamboo. I'd also take trips to the UK to buy hardy palms and other temperate exotics. Our garden in France has been finished for years and I'm not so into remaking a garden in Holland. I think I'll stick with Orchids as my garden/plant fix. I'm very new to orchids and still figuring out which ones I like.
There is an Orchid nursery in German that has been around since the late 1800's , must find the link again.
That one is about four hours drive from The Hague.
I'm sure I'll find a good orchid friend in Europe who can guide me to interesting adventures . I have no clue as to how many of the US hybrids are available in Europe. But I can do international orders from a few nurseries here. I've lined up one already for my developing Catasetum collection and will contact others. So after School and housing research , orchids come next
I'm not so much asking a question as seeing who and what pops up on the thread . Nice to see a UK member here, and US member who cannot be that far away from us in Maryland/DC , although PA is Huge .
Thanks
Best Wishes
Steve
