Default Looking at Euro websites for orchids

Since we will be in Europe from July I am exploring the web for Orchid nurseries. Seems there are many good ones and the prices are very good.
I'll drive a long way for a look at a good nursery.
here is one in Berlin , since part of my wife's family is from Berlin I'm sure we will be visiting.

Familiarize yourself with the importation requirements if you intend on bringing plants back. You can self carry up to 12 plants into the US without an import permit, but you will need the nursery to provide phytosanitary certification. The willingness and ability of the seller to provide this, along with the cost of the certification should be your primary decision maker on if and where to purchase plants while in Europe. And understand that this applies only to non CITES listed species.

Europe is a fairly large area, any chance you can be a little more specific in where you will be based?

Default Sorry

Sorry for the lack of details , it was late when I posted
We are moving to The Hague in the Netherlands for four or five years. We maybe posted to another European Country after that or Australia or ? We never know where next we are going .We have been in the US for 7 plus years . I will give my plants away when we leave here . I'm hoping to take a few if I can find a way. I'll contact the Maryland Agro Dept. and see if it's possible to have some plants certified to take.
So not having a clue how into their Orchids Europeans are I was looking at Orchidwire to see where the nurseries are. Europe is small in many ways and also huge in others . When we lived near Paris I would go up to Holland and back in a day to buy Bamboo. I'd also take trips to the UK to buy hardy palms and other temperate exotics. Our garden in France has been finished for years and I'm not so into remaking a garden in Holland. I think I'll stick with Orchids as my garden/plant fix. I'm very new to orchids and still figuring out which ones I like.
There is an Orchid nursery in German that has been around since the late 1800's , must find the link again.
That one is about four hours drive from The Hague.
I'm sure I'll find a good orchid friend in Europe who can guide me to interesting adventures . I have no clue as to how many of the US hybrids are available in Europe. But I can do international orders from a few nurseries here. I've lined up one already for my developing Catasetum collection and will contact others. So after School and housing research , orchids come next
I'm not so much asking a question as seeing who and what pops up on the thread . Nice to see a UK member here, and US member who cannot be that far away from us in Maryland/DC , although PA is Huge .
Thanks
Best Wishes
Steve

I would recommend Roellke in Stuckenbrock, they do many shows, I have not visited the premises, but can vouch for their orchids.

Default Thank you

Thank you for the links. I will join an orchid society in the Netherlands and that should help a lot. I only have English and a medium amount of French so orchids meetings will be a little strange to start with. My wife speaks German ,French and English so she will be fine in quick order with Dutch. I plan on getting a house with a Greenhouse or room in the Garden to put one. Need to explore costs of that once we are in Europe. I did see a house for sale just a little South of the Hague with a 4000 sq meter greenhouse , I guess that is about 40,000 sq ft , perhaps a little big for me

In the Netherlands I highly, highly recommend Claessen Orchideeën, down in Limburg. Orchideeen-shop.nl - D webwinkel voor orchideen I've been down to the nursery once and it's wonderful. I usually order online though since shipping is cheap and fast in the Netherlands. Rarely disappointed with the plants.
Otherwise I shop at Schwerter, Popow, Lucke, or Elsner in Germany and love Nardotto e Capello in Italy.
