Default Mounting experiment

Hi All,

I posted earlier this week about my failure to repot in a timely manner and the loss of roots. I have little faith in my ability to revive them so I am experimenting. I have been skimming posts about mounts both on wood and clay pots. This is what I concocted using wood, sphagnum moss, a heavy vase, and my orchids. I trimmed the roots, sprayed them with very diluted Superthrive, and put the wood in a vase that has water.

The water is wicking up right now.

Abby

Hi, I have considered doing something like this with some mini Phals from Lowes. I think it could work very well as long as they receive enough water. Yours is beautiful, very nice looking. Maybe I should make a run to Lowes and pick up a couple.
I hope they grow well for you.

That looks really cool, but they would dry way to fast for me. Good luck with them.

Very nice! Would love to have one myself but I too don't think I'd give them enough water. Well done.
