So maybe it does have a different name.
I do like it as I was thinking about ordering it myself love the white on the dark purple.

I'll find the pic of the one I saw in the show that looks so much like it, but I've learned the Orchid world is pretty strange. Some double, triple registrations, naming confusion across the board, and everyone having their own set of tips and "proven" methods. For instance, last year I shared a pic of my Miltassia Shelob and someone told me that Miltassia is "out" and it's not Bratonia. I asked about this when a vendor at the Batavia show used the name Miltassia. She went straight to one of the judges came back and told me Bratonia is not correct, it is still Miltassia. Soooooooo now I have to change all my notes and those in my mind.
Next year they'll probably change it to Bratonia, lol, whoever 'they' is.
Maybe you'll get one next time. Today I smooshed my face gently into the blooms of 'Black Jack' for the heck of it and I'll be dammed if the thing doesn't have a very light fragrance.

I have Copper Falls, the plant gets REALLY big. I saw those for sale - looks like backbulbs that were sprouted. They grow fast.
There is a I-Hsin Black Jack phal - and yours is a close to darnit approximation. ( photos on OrchidWiz )
I was told that if you can grow Vandas in the Mid-West you have arrived , but on the other hand it was a Vanda grower that told me that !
I remember the Masai Red - it is really a rich, deep red.
I think a lot of us are going to live vicariously through your ( accumulated ) purchases. Time for a greenhouse !
BTW - our exhibit - Batavia Orchid Society got a first ribbon - we haven't had one for ages, so were happy.

Thanks for the diagnosis, I've been worried. I think my latest acquisitions have worked as a vaccination against this overwhelming condition. I feel content (read: overwhelmed
). Probably helps/doesn't help that I've got some that are known to be difficult to grow and care for, so now the pressure's on!
Oh gosh, Copper Falls is not happy already!
I accidentally broke a leaf on one of the growths but now that growth is yellowing. I fear mine isn't going to get "REALLY BIG". What makes yours happy?
Oh ho ho, this Vanda may make or break me in the orchid world it seems! (That and my Aganisia & Huntleyas apparently
). I think I'll go run it under the shower real quick...
Okay, I'm back.
I agree it's time for a greenhouse, but unfortunately whatever we say and want doesn't always go. Congratulations on getting a blue ribbon! I did see that display it was quite nice. I think I have a quick pic of the display - I was in a hurry at that point - and some of the plants. Btw, I saw your cross at the Batavia show, it's a nice subtle beauty.

Angraecum elephantinum and Blc. Your Mine 'NN'. The vendor brought the Angraecum for me and as I was paying for it, I saw the Cattleya.

Ooo nice! See I think perhaps it's good advice to wear blinders when one is at an orchid show, that way you can't look around too much.

Oh no I didn't get the display.
I was worried the vendors I bought from were going to think I forgot.
But if I remember which pics are which it was the Vanda Doi Inthanond that got the blue?
