Default phal in bloom with 2 spikes. different flowers on each spike

i have a phal that has 2 blooming spikes and is producing a third. the two spikes that are in bloom have completely different flowers from one another. is this a common occurrence? i wonder what the third spike's blooms will look like.

I think if you look closely you will find you have two possibly three separate plants. It happens occasionally, especially at big box stores like Home Depot. When the time comes to repot you can separate them if you like and have 2 for the price of 1!

I agree with JoAnn, would like to see pictures of it, in and out of the pot. Sounds interesting.

Is that moss just on the top or is it planted in moss? If the moss is just on top peel it back and you may find a second plant hiding underneath. I can't fathom that these flowers are coming from the same plant. There has to be a second one in there somewhere. Just my .

Well, we know that the tallest spike in flower is P. Newberry Parfait "Picotee". The spike that hasn't blossomed yet is most likely the same as Newberry Parfait is well know for mulitple spikes. Now, the odd man out has to be a second plant, probably grown in so close that it appears to be all one plant. It might even have only one leaf. I have no idea what the name is. That's as far out on the limb as I'm going. If it were my plant I'd re-pot and find out what is going on. Thanks for the pictures and post some more if you decide to look into the "root" of the problem.
