It's not got nearly as many buds (swellings?) as your plant has, but hopefully that will change as it reaches adulthood (whenever that might be). Thanks for posting the pics of your plant--and Gil, I'm very sorry to have gotten off of your original topic here.

Steve, I'm pretty proud of this plant. It's one of two I have - this one mounted on cork, the other on tree fern. They both are approx 10 years old. Only year it didn't bloom was first one when I was ignorant on resting requirements. Since then I have gotten "mean" and withhold all water, etc. This is first year it put on such great length to canes. I hear they can get to over 5 feet in proper conditions! This one has approx 30" canes (2 of them) and the other on tree fern has 24" canes (3 of them). Previous years the growths were pretty short. I attribute this to moving to RO water with 125ppm MSU mix at every watering. Water daily during growth and every-other-day right now as I bring it out of dormancy. Here are pics of older flowering a few years back -
You can see there were way fewer buds then compared to this year.
Here's a picture of the cork mounted plant while in full growth this summer -
The two new canes matured much longer (approx 10" longer) than in this photo.
