Spike through leaf

So I have a Phal that is putting out a spike (YAY!) However, the spike is growing through a leaf. Now there really isn't anything I can do about it, but is it bad for the plant, no big deal, common occurrence, other?

Growing through a leaf is not a big deal, as long as it's growing outward. just be glad it's not ingrown, which can also happen. any ingrown spikes I've ever had have ended up not developing correctly or breaking themselves in two.
