Phal root or spike stalled.

I was excited to see my phal that I got for $5 doing very well upon looking at the new growth a couple weeks ago I scraped a piece of the root or spike nub. Since then it stopped growing . I does has a new leaf growing thou. I'm confused because it's hard to tell if it was a spike or root. I will post a picture later tonight.

What could have happened ?

Well, if it's a root, you may have damaged the grow tip. If so, out may start to grow again, or just start a new one. Ditto for a spike.

I agree with Sonya. I have accidentally broken new roots, and for me they seem to stall for a month or two, and then start a new growing tip slightly above the break.

Ok ,It has a lot of roots so I'm not worried. And the new leaf growing as well.

Thank you for letting me know a new one will probably come out.
