Apologies for the poor lighting, this was done with my phone camera. But I think you get the gist! It's kind of a pinky-yellow with purple on the lip. Very nice floral smell

I just looked at the tag of mine more closely. It is 'NN'. Opps. It is a really cute one. The plant itself is quite small and very compact in growth. It has some new growth coming along and new roots on some of the other growths so I re-potted it into LECA and a basket pot after bringing it home. Here is a picture of mine:

I have a soprholaeliocattleya Hawaiian Lightning x slc. Swigr Bear...
The OS in my town that gave it to me told me that when it was registered, it was meant to say "Sugar Bear" but it was misspelled... It drives me nuts!!! But hey, I didn't make the name so I've just gotta deal with it. When it blooms, I will give it a nickname of my own creation.
"Your Mine" would drive me nuts, too!

Leafmite, yours is very pretty, too! Yours has a very nice white color; it makes the yellow and purple stand out.
Mine needs repotted as well--it is climbing out of the pot haha. I know you usually go with pure LECA. Do catts like more chunky mixes, do you know?

Oh man, "Swigr Bear." That is not an easy to do typo haha. That would drive me up the wall. I hope you make a much cuter nickname for it when it blooms. Maybe "Hawaiian Sugar"?

Yes, you will want a mix that 'breathes'. What type of mix, exactly, will also depend on the type of pot you plan to use. A solid plastic pot only loses water from the top compared to a clay or basket/net pot which loses water from the sides as well.
Wayne Roberts of Roberts Flower Supply makes really good potting mixes for orchids and the price is excellent, too. I just bought a nicely sized bag of Dendrobium seedling mix for my Pleione and it was only $5.
If you want to make your own, you can look at Repotme.com's site to see what they put into their mixes to help you figure out what you need to buy. They have pictures and list what is in their mixes.

Hopefully the orchid is nice enough to make up for that name!
