Please help, orchid with (almost) no roots.
Hi!
I am a new owner of sickly phalaenopsis that I took from my friend. It was dry, leathery and withering when I first acquired it so I repotted this poor orchid.
After a few weeks the orchid leaves look all hydrated, green and healthy then I found some fungal growth on the medium so I took it out to repot only to find its whole root all black and rot! I had to cut off whatever I thought wasn't salvageable and now all that's left is a few aerial roots and one tiny root (in the photo).
I did end up repotting it (I potted aerial roots too) in bark medium that I prepared but I'm afraid this might suffocate the plant. I don't know if I should take it out from bark medium, keep it there or sphag and bag it, I would appreciate some help and guidance!

sphag 'n bag
find a way to keep the temps above 70 degrees at night for a while, and mid-80s during the day. We want it to go into a growth cycle, and it needs warmth to do that....heating pad on warm, and keep the top of the bag open, maybe...
Anyone with a better procedure to make and keep warm for a couple of weeks??
hope this helps
Rex

Since it has some good roots, I wouldn't do spag 'n bag - I think that's something to be done in worst case (NO roots) scenarios. I'd keep it in a medium bark mix, water when the media is very nearly dry.

Put all the roots into a small pot with med and a bit of fine bark, water, fertilize and keep your fingers crossed. With luck, it will recover.

Thank you so much all of you for the reply!
The suggestion means potting the aerial roots, too, right?
Done, done, done and keeping my fingers crossed! Thanks again!!!
