Argh! Sunburned my phalaenopsis. Should I just toss it?

Sunburn is by far not as dangerous as any other infection or infestation, and that leaf damage is nothing but a bit unsightly. A little patience will do it, and in the next flowering season you will not even think of it.

I would not throw it out or cut the leaf off. It's just a little spot and if you like the color of the flowers it is worth keeping. Most of my Orchids have a bit of sunburn, even with shadecloth I can not always avoid it in my climate.

You shouldn't have something that you are not happy with.

There are tons of orchids to try out there.
Go and buy some nice ones at shows and be happy!
