I know how it is. My youngest is a senior in HS now but when all three were at home, there was always something getting knocked over. One even was replanted upside-down.
If you do need to move the orchids around, you could try LECA. They are these little clay balls and they are not as rough on the orchid roots as the red lava rock. You can also stake the orchids in the pots to keep them from wriggling. Once the root system gets large enough, the orchids won't move in the pots and the roots will not be in danger of breaking.
