Little keiki with spike
I have lots of phalaenopsis plants that have been around for a few years, have roots systems like banyon trees, and won't spike. Today, though, I checked one of my two little keikis....potted maybe 6 weeks ago....and one of them has a spike. Now, the keiki in question has maybe 3 leaves, and the whole plant, leaf tip to leaf tip, might be two inches across! The mother plant is a NoID, but if memory serves, it wasn't particularly tiny in terms of blossoms. Is this normal? I can't even imagine how a plant that small will support a spike!
